Mr. Huynh Van Quang Hung, Director of Long An Department of Industry and Trade said that from now to 2030, Long An province plans and invests in building 10 logistics centers in Can Giuoc, Ben Luc, Chau Thanh, Can Duoc, Duc Hue, Tan Tru districts and Kien Tuong town. In particular, Long An international port will play an important role (with a planned area of 147ha in Can Giuoc district).
Long An province also focuses on developing its transportation network. Specifically, it will form an intersection connecting the national transport infrastructure system with the provincial infrastructure system, in order to enhance inter-regional transport connectivity and promote socio-economic development; arranging additional entrances and exits with the North-South Expressway in the East in Ben Luc and Thu Thua districts. At the same time, focus on renovating and upgrading 53 existing provincial roads and building 29 other provincial roads.
Specifically, upgrading the provincial road DT 827E, Duc Hoa dynamic axis, My Quy Tay – Luong Hoa – Binh Chanh dynamic axis, Tan Tap – Long Hau road, parallel road National Highway 62. The province also focuses on upgrading and renovating 5 waterway transport routes, including Tan Tap route (Long An seaport) – Ben Luc – Duc Hoa; Tan Tap route (Long An seaport) – Ben Luc – Moc Hoa; Tan Tap route (Long An seaport) – Tan An – Duc Hoa; Tan Tap route (Long An seaport) – Tan An – Moc Hoa and Phuoc Dong – Tan Kim route.
In addition, the province will build, upgrade and renovate 18 cargo ports, with a scale to meet the scale of department goods and bulk cargo ships with a tonnage of 1,000-2,000 tons; 17 specialized ports including petroleum ports, ports serving the operation of a number of factories and industrial parks with construction scale to meet ships of 200-5,000 tons and 14 passenger terminals synchronous along passenger transport routes and in accordance with the province’s urban planning. The province has also planned 2 dry ports Ben Luc (Ben Luc district) and Tan Lap dry port (Thu Thua district), each with an area of 10-15ha.
